Fall Youth Basketball In Riyadh

Dear RYSA Patrons,

RYSA is pleased to announce that it will be opening its 2008-2009 sports program with Basketball.

Registration is on 21st and 28th of August (choose either session), Thursdays, from 10 am to 2 pm at the American International School in Riyadh (AIS-R) (please note that the school entrance has been transferred to the other side) for the following age divisions:

Pee Wees (6-7 yrs old boys & girls, birth date between 01 Aug 01 and 31 Jul 03)
Minors (8-9 yrs old boys & girls, birth date between 01 Aug 99 and 31 Jul 01)
Major Boys (10-12 yrs old boys, birth date between 01 Aug 96 and 31 Jul 99)
Junior Boys (13-14 yrs old boys, birth date between 01 Aug 94 and 31 Jul 96)
Senior Boys (15-17 yrs old boys, birth date between 01 Aug 91 and 31 Jul 94)
Junior Girls (10-13 yrs old girls, birth date between 01 Aug 95 and 31 Jul 99)
Senior Girls (14-17 yrs old girls, birth date between 01 Aug 91 and 31 Jul 95)

There is also try-out immediately after registration for players who will be joining RYSA basketball for the first time and those previous RYSA players who are advancing in their age division levels (examples from minors to majors, majors to juniors, etc). There is no try-out for Pee Wees and Minors’ division players.

First time and previous RYSA players who have not submitted copy of proof of birth date must submit along with the registration form.

Junior and Senior Boys division players are required to submit two (2) pcs. passport size pictures.

Games are in AIS-R every Thursdays from 16 October to 27 November 2008 (seven weeks). Team practice schedule/location (which is outside AIS-R) will be dependent upon agreement between team coach and his/her players.

Registration fee is SR250. Registration forms are available at the major international schools and in AIS-R during registration period. Soft copy is also available on request.

RYSA is an all volunteer organization, so we are requesting parents who have knowledge of the sports to volunteer as coaches and assistant coaches or volunteer a friend whom you know has interest in the sport.

This is the local boys public school. The female school several blocks away is going through a much needed upgrade and expansion.
