Tamimis / Safeway grocery store

Tamimi / Safeway market is probably the most popular grocery store amongst the westerners (non scientific findings). They airship lots of products, so one has access to many "comfort foods". Yesterday, I even saw Whatchamacallits, boy that took me back a few years.


Most of the pics include the price at the bottom of the photo. The prices are in Saudi riyals and can be converted to dollars by dividing by 3.75 and the answer is the amount in dollars. For example one box of imp0rted cereal is about 22 sar. So we take the 22 /3.75 = $5.87. Quite expensive, so you pay for that convenience and access.

Switching out the "gas"

This is video of the gas guy replacing the cylinders. In general, one cylinder may last my family about 2 to 3 months. It only costs 15 Saudi riyals to replace. There are shops like this one spread throughout the city and this one carries gas cylinders, bottled water (5 gallons) and bottled soda (the old school ones in glass bottles with the metal tops).

The following is an email detailing reg. info.

Dear RYSA Patrons,

Due to the recent Ministry of Education directive extending the school's holiday until 9th October, please be advised of the following changes in the RYSA Basketball calendar of events (as earlier announced from my rysacentral@yahoo.com e-mail add):

Registration/Try-Outs (American International School-Riyadh):
15th October, 10 AM to 3 PM, Thursday
16th October, 2 PM to 5 PM, Friday
22nd October, 10 AM to 3 PM, Thursday (Late registration-ONLY IF THE REQUIRED NOS OF PLAYERS HAVE NOT BEEN MET ON 15th AND 16th OCTOBER REGISTRATION)

Team Formation (for Coaches and Assistant Coaches ONLY):
22nd or 23rd October, 9 AM to 5 PM (exat date to be announced later)

Games:
29 October; 5, 12, 19 November; 3, 10 December
