The city's sky was red like this from about 11AM till sunset, 6PM. It was so dark I had to use the headlights, not that they helped much.
Above is the massive sand storm as it envelopes Riyadh on March 10, 2009. Some are saying it was the largest in city history.

Gave me pause the video and the pictures. Been on the other side of stuff like that, and it looks different that it does knowing that someone you care about was on the other end.
You know the weather has been quite strange this year compared to the few others I have witnessed here. We had several days (like 5 or six) of rain. Now, you know in NC this is nothing strange but here it is quite out of the ordinary. For the last couple of days the temp. has increased, been above 100 F I am quite sure.
